Biography of pianist Jeroen Riemsdijk
Jeroen Riemsdijk, author of
The Golden Fingers Technique, is Head of the Faculty Musical and Vocal Coaching for Pianists at the
Conservatoire of Maastricht. This is a
Master of Music program.
He has given lectures and masterclasses for the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) and for physiotherapists who work with musicians. He also teaches Sight Reading for Pianists. A new publication about Sight Reading for pianists is forthcoming.
The exercises recommended in this book were thoroughly examined and tested by two eminent physiologists. Dr. Hans Keizer is considered an expert in movement and exercise science. Holding posts at Maastricht University and the Free University of Brussels, he co-authored more than 100 scientific papers. Dr. Marjon van Eijsden links her medical and scientific expertise - gained with both athletes and musicians - to her present work as a rehabilitation doctor at Maastricht University.

Dutch pianist
Jeroen Riemsdijk has a busy concert schedule as a soloist and chamber musician. He regularly works with a number of celebrated international artists both in recitals, at international festivals and in the recording studio. He is member of the
Zhislin Piano Quartet. He was a prize winner at the ‘Start ‘86’ competition, and appeared as a soloist at the
Young Musicians’ Foundation founded by Sir Yehudi Menuhin.
He completed his studies ‘with distinction’ in the class of Professor Ben Smits (a pupil of Cornelius Berkhout, Bela Siki and Clara Haskil) at the Zwolle Conservatoire, and received the ‘Konzertdiplom’ at the Folkwang Musikhochschule in Essen with the Russian pianist Boris Bloch.
